Odd shaped cucumbers. Sweet nasturtiums. My garden has it all. And some years the abundance is just breath-taking, especially when the black iris blooms again.
I began gardening as a toddler alongside my mother. She dug the holes; I planted the seeds. Having a garden has always offered groundedness, no matter where I lived. Once in a top-floor city apartment, I tended a window box filled with flowers and herbs.
Today, I live at 7,500 feet and my garden gets daily attention. Even in the winter, I love the way snow transforms the view out my window. And watching the juncos nibble grass seeds is just delightful.
In the days before blogs, My Little Garden Patch appeared weekly online. I was the garden writer for Santa Fe Greenhouses and readers emailed from Spain, France and England. Everyone wanted to share news about their own garden patches.
My Little Garden Patch lives once again in a weekly blog. Let me know about the goings-on in your own garden.
